I have an Epox 8KHA+ and an AMD Athlon XP 1700+.

I'm new to CPU overclocking so any tips would be helpful. I don't think I'll be unlocking the multiplier.. I don;t think I have that kind of patience :) but.. how much harm could FSB overclocking be?

Since my CPU is at 1.47ghz.. I don't want to do any major overlocking.. maybe a slight OC to 1.5.. that shouldn't be too bad right?

Do I have to do any voltage modifying?

As you can see, I am totally clueless about CPU overclocking. I'm just hoping for a slight bump to 1.5ghz or less.

How should I go upon doing this?

My case is an Antec 630 w/ 300 psu. I'm using an SK6 w/ delta fan. Thanks

System Specs:
Epox 8KHA+ KT266a
AMD Athlon XP 1700+ @ 1.47ghz
Crucial 512mb PC2100 DDR
Gainward GF3 Ti200 @ 220/500 (don't really need to push it anymore than that but have gotten it to 250/555)
IBM 60GXP 60GB
Windows XP Home Edition

overclocking to 1.5ghz is very easy if you have a decent cooler, you don't need a voltage mod...and go to bios and up the FSB

Okay, what exactly is that formula to get the clock speed? For the FSB @ 133, pushing it up how much will give me 1.5ghz? Also.. how much is too much for FSB OCing? I don't want to do any damage to the board..

your multiplier is 11 x 133.......so by going up the fsb to 138 will get you over 1500mhz that way............should go very easily. then you need to test it with Prime 95 and 3dmark2001 to make sure all is stable. i dont feel you will need to raise the voltage much if any at all as your not going up much on the mhz
