8K7A vs 8KHA

Would anyone care to address the importance of the difference between the 1X AGP on the 8K7A and the 4X AGP on on the 8KHA. What significant differences will in real world operation. Any other comments on the pair???

They are both 4x agp.

The 8K7A will probably overclock slightly better than the 8KHA, but other than that the only difference is the chipset. The KT266 chipset in the 8KHA might be slightly slower than the AMD 761 based 8K7A, but nothing that should be noticeable except in benchmarks. Either board should be a good choice. If you are new to building your own system, I would choose the 8KHA just because it is completely jumperless so you would not need to mess with jumpers or dipswitches. Basically, if you are going to do some serious overclocking, than the 8K7A might be a better choice. If you just plan on building the system and not overclocking, or o/c'ing just a little, than the 8KHA should be a good choice. Either board will perform excellent..🙂

Insane3D said it all. The 8K7A uses the new DDR RAM while the 8KHA uses the older SDR RAM. If you already have SDR RAM, then go with the 8KHA. If you need to buy RAM either way, I would suggest the 8K7A and some DDR RAM. DDR is the wave of the future...

Actually, they both use DDR. I think your thinking of the 8KTA3? The 8KHA uses the KT266 chipset and it uses DDR as well. 🙂
