I am using

Motherbd 8K7A
1.2Ghz AXIA-Y
512MB PC2100
TaiSol 7942XXXX
Antec 1030/300W
2 Rear 1 Front Fans.

1. Do I need to change any DIP switches?
2. What BIOS settings that needs to be changed?
3. Do I need to change any voltage settings?
4. Do I need to change any memory settings?

Please dont point me to www.overclockers.com. I am totally confused by reading too much of "overclocking" sites/documents. Is it possible to overclock 1.2 at 1.4? Please point me to any overclocking sites for 8K7A.

First unlock your processor by connecting the L1 bridges with conductive ink or a good pencil. To answer your specific questions:

1. Yes, you need to change the DIP switches as described in the manual.

2. If you want to overclock the FSB, you need to change the CPU Host Clock in the Frequency/Voltage Control section. If you don't want to change the FSB, you don't need to change any BIOS settings.

3. Not unless you experience instability. If you overclock your system too much, you can get random lockups/freezes. Sometimes increasing the voltage will solve this problem. WARNING: increasing voltage can (and will) make your CPU run hotter and can cause it to fail. You can adjust the voltage using jumpers as described in the manual.

4. It depends on whether you want to overclock your memory or not. If you do want OC your memory, you can change some of the timings in the BIOS. If you don't know what you're doing with these timings, though, don't touch them, since they can lead to instability and you might end up killing your memory.

Hope that answers your questions. Good luck!
