8K7A+ RAID Trouble: 'hidden' drive status

:frown: I'm hoping that some of you with more experience and greater intellect wil be able to help me out on this one: This is my first attempt to set up a RAID 0 array. I have attached two 60GB Seagate ATA IV drives as Masters on IDE 3 and IDE 4, using cable select. When I go to set up the array, everything is OK (drives appear as UDMA 5, etc.) until the final step -when I choose 'create array'. At this point, the status of one of the drives changes to 'hidden' and I get the error message that there are not enough drives to create an array. I have tried changing which drive is selected as #1 and #2, and this results in the 'hidden' issue changing too. I only have two ata 100 cables, so I haven't been able to swap these out - however the drives show up properly at the outset, so I don't think it is a cable issue...

Any ideas for me please?
