The built in joystick port on my 8k7a does not recognize when a midi device is connected.
Its that built in soundcard deal, AC97?

Any ideas anyone? thanks.

you saying 'not recognized' or 'no sound' ? Check your DEvManager to see if your sound/game controllers are showing/working...maybe you might also have disabled the device(possibly even in the BIOS..)
 
All the devices show up fine. The sound card works fine.
Its just that nothing happens when a midi device is hooked up to the joy port. Midi programs do not detect any midi inputs.
