Hi i installed the 8K7a but if i put the motherboard inside the case and i try to center perfectly the studs on the holes , the motherboard is very close to the back of my case (allmost touch the case) and i hawe problems inserting my PCI/Agp cards insisde the slots and i must bend the end of my PCI cards because the mobo is so close to the case and the metal bare of the PCI card will actualy touch the motherboard .
There is a problem if the studs are not perfectly centered on the holes ? ,...it can provide a short or something ?
I realy need to hawe the motherboard a little more towards on front to install properly the PCI's.
Thanx for helping me :)

My first guess would be your backplane might be bent a little, causing it to sit funny.

If it is removable, check to make sure it is sitting right in the case too. Even if you never removed it, it could have gotten dislodged in shipping.

I can't imagine you being able to get much play in the centering of the holes on the mounting posts, but to answer your question, the only thing you need to worry about is if the posts are making contact with any of the traces.

Any of the little lines that run all over the board. They usually try to keep them a little bit away from where the mounting holes are, but some are closer than others.

I have an 8K7A in an Addtronics case and have the same experience. I just slightly bend the end of the plate until it fits. No real big deal but this is the first board that I had this issue with. I think the mounting hole location is slightly off.
