I just bought this new mobo and processor, to my surprise this mobo doesn't support 1.4 tbird. Only 8K7A+ support up to 1.4 Tbird. Danggg...why didn't I check the CPU list first before I bought it.

Question:
1. Should I still go with the mobo for stability and such or should I just replace it with 8K7A+. I'm not building a server for this system so RAID is not my priority eventhough you can get it with an extra 10 bucks at newegg.com.

2. Btw, right now I'm running it at 1610Mhz (11.5x140FSB) with minor adjustments on CPU Vcore and DDR Adjust. Anybody wants to share their overclock experience with this mobo, say like 1.8gig...:).

Thanks

I don't see why you need to replace the board. I have no idea why the 1400 is not "supported" on this board. It supports XP processors running at 1400 and higher, so it really doesn't make any sense.

Well it was according to the Epox website, which I wonder about the stability under this processor. So far it works flawlessly at 1.4gig.

Thanks for the reply...:)

I'm not sure whats up with their CPU list sometimes.

I was running an XP 1600+ on my 8KTA3 and that worked fine too. Newest BIOS specifically added detection of the XP processors, yet it wasn't listed.

Funny thing is, the "+" version, which is exactly the same execpt for RAID did have it listed....I think they are just too lazy to test them all sometimes.
