8K5A2+ BIOS Settings

I've tried reading Adrian's Definitive BIOS Optimization Guide and tweaking my memory settings to get the best, but there are some settings that aren't in his guide that I believe could be very important. Can some people post their settings here and if you are overclocking and to what extreme?

Hey techfuzz. 🙂

I'm not overclocking extremely by any stretch...but hey, I'll be the first reply!

8K5A2+ (Nov 02 bios)
512mb stick of Crucial PC2700 (CAS 2.5)
XP1600 (Palomino, not unlocked...yet)

Default CPU and memory voltages.
Memory running at 166
CPU FSB running at 166

Memory timings:
CAS2
4-way interleave
2
5
2
Continuous DRAM req enabled
Fast turnaround (or whatever it is) enabled
Command rate Auto

1740MHz

SANDRA reports memory benchmarks of 2353/2188. That is some serious bandwith for a 166FSB! The timings have everything to do with it, as I loaded the "optimized timings" and reran....the scores stunk. 😛

I haven't gone higher b/c my CPU is still locked and I don't think my SBlive likes the PCI bus any higher than about 38 or so....I get my NForce2 board (8RDA+) on Tuesday..I'll be unlocking the CPU and seeing how far the Crucial will go. I had to RMA my stick of Corsair PC3200 (CAS2.5) b/c it sucked big time...wouldn't do more than 170MHz at ANY timings. When I get that stick back...welll, I'm gonna try and fry this CPU. 😉
