It will take a flagship card, 6 years from now, just to run a current game at 8K. And probably at 30fps...but really, probably 8 years.

how are we supposed to do something better than GDDR5? You can't just wave your hands and make technology appear, GDDR5 is already fantastically efficient. I don't see us pushing much higher bus rates honestly.

HMC and HBM are right up here, far beyond in bandwidth and efficiency.

I am curious what the quantum dot tech will do for existing sets in 4K and 1080p.

Provide better color reproduction and a wider gamut, while still producing shitty blacks and shitty motion.
