8INXP operating temps..sloooowing me down!

I was going to post this in the dedicated forum but there is just too much in there right now. ***System specs listed below***

My normal CPU operating temps are around 38-40 when I am in windows, when I'm running a game it can get as high as 50. If I am getting that high during a game my computer starts to lag really bad. I know my CPU should be able to handle running at 50, so why is it lagging? I have enough RAM, enough power, and enough video to make games run perfect at least I thought, what's the deal? Could this problem stem to the thermal switch in the CPU? Is this a cooling problem with my RAM, video, or CPU? Any tips or pointers, any suggestions?
I am thinking I should buy that new zalman heatpipe for my video card and the thermalright 900U with a 92mm panaflo fan. I was even thinking about adding two 120mm fans to the top of my case to help exhaust the hot air. It seems everything I have likes to run hot, so I am thinking this might be my problem. Lagg is really annoying especially when the crap I invested in should be efficient enough to run todays games!
Could my RAM be overheating? Maybe I should invest in some kind of RAM heatsink, what do you think?

With four case fans, it sounds like you have enough air flow. the SLK900 is good one to get but you may want to consider the Vantec Aeroflow. its cheaper than the SLK with reaonable noise because of the high output 70mm fan with load temps on my overclocked P42.53@3.42 at 44C. So consider cheap/reasonable noise with expensive/possible quiet. But quieter usually means hotter running.

As well, the Radeon pro emits a lot of heat as well but I think that the heatpipe isnt necessary. Consider using a video cooler fan bracket (click on Video and PC card coolers) from this place. I dropped 5C after installing a quiet 92mm fan on it.

I don't mind the money as much as I do the sound. I have a 70mm on the thermaltake 7 right now and it is loud as heck. I am hoping the 92mm spinning at a lower rpm will be easier on the ears and keep the CPU a lot cooler. Thanks for the video cooler link, i think I will do that instead of the heat pipe. Two fans centered over me video card sounds like it would work a lot better.
On a side note, so you think that my temps are the reason my computer lags then? Is it my RAM getting hot, my CPU, or my video card that is the major problem? Any takers?

sounds like the CPU is overheating and the thermal protection circuit is kicking in. as well, dont waste your money on active cooling for RAM. the slk900 should be an excellent heatsink. i have the slk800 on my xp2400 running at stock and it doest get over 36C at full load so i expect the 900 to do a very good job.
