I don't really care, since my 3.5 ghz C2D would probably beat it, and thats probably a suicide shot anyway.

Well, I needed 4.26 (estimated) to keep up with my X2@2.6, and my C2D@3.5 is 2-3 times as fast (depending on the app) as my 2.5 X2's now. That means that it would take a PentiumD ~8 ghz or ovr to equal a C2D@3.5 (again depending on app) F@H is 3 times as fast on some units, twice as fast on others on my C2D's vs my X2's. And I can sustain 3.5 indefinitely, no suide shot on nitrogen.....

I imagine since that is 8ghz for just one core and by caclculation a 1.86ghz E6300 would likely beat a 3.4ghz P4, then I would say it is very likely in an app that can take advantage fully of 2 cores at 3.4-3.5ghz would beat that.....

In singlethreaded apps it likely would beat the C2D...that ofcourse would be depending that it was stable....It says a lot about even gettng into windows though...

The 631 is a single core chip (at least that's what the validation shows) :)

if that were a dual core chip, that'd be even more impressive!

So you're saying that this achievement is really not much to talk about?

no it is tsill pretty amazing by shear number....just the fact the peformance may not be all it is cracked up to be....Other then gaming single core prowess is lost....

Is there a way to fake cpu_Z and the verifier? I mean right now I could post a screen shot of 4.23ghz on my DS3....It would really be running much lower cause a lot of measuring apps only read the fsb and assume the multiplier....

In this case what is the stock multiplier for the 631? I dont know but is it 15? Is it 15x200 for 3ghz at stock. seems liek this could be a trick or gltich where it reads the incorrect multi which he may have actually drop lower and so he could be running much mcuh lower actually...

True.

I'm still deeply amazed by this.

8ghz is astounding. If core 2 duo was single core, how high would it have to be clocked to roughly equal the performance of this? Im guessing around 5ghz.

Yea thats pretty damn awsome. Beats the "5ghz P4" that THG did a while ago.
