"It should be fine, but they're not tested together" doesn't sound like a super high level of confidence. Hmm...I'll guess I'll wait and see how it goes for you.
yes, if you even plan on running 16GB as most boards only have 4 slots. if you dont then obviously go with the 2 4GB kits.
I'm confused about those newegg links for 8GB vs 16GB kits.
The 8GB is 2 x 4GB DIMMs for $175.
The 16GB is 4 x 4GB DIMMs for $450.
The 16GB kit is $100 more than two of the 8GB kits??? In either case you're using 4 RAM slots. If the 16GB kit were a 2 x 8GB kit using only two slots, then I could understand a premium.
Indeed. Early 2009 I saw tales on the net on how you must adjust voltage if you put 4 * 2GB (regardless of whether one kit of 4 or two kits of 2 each), or overall if you put over 4 GB to a board. I do presume that those tales were from P35-chipset era.its the manufacturer preying upon the consumer's fear of incompatibility
guess who helps produce/perpetuate that fear though 😛
I don't understand why you aren't considering 2 x F3-8500CL7S-4GBRL modules.I don't overclock...
