Man memory is getting dirt cheap (well it's been dirt cheap for a while). I hope g.skill can stay in business at this price point as it is a great company.

G.Skill is also a favorite of mine. Hope they are around for a long time! Great memory, great prices, and NO rebates!

The 1600 speed is a shellshocker later today for $45 shipped.

I'm planning on putting together a 2500k Sandybridge system w/ a Z68 mobo chipset.

Do you guys have any suggestions on which of these 2 NewEgg deals would be better?
8GB (2x4GB) G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 1333 for $39.99 shipped
or
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 for $45 shipped?

Does the X signify something better? The timings look the same except the 1600 has an additional 2N on its timings which I'm not sure what that signifies.

Any suggestions guys? I'm doing a rebuild for the upcoming BF3 release.

Thx!

I'm sitting here eyeballing this myself right now, But I think id go with the 1600....since it has a lower latency for only a few bucks more.

I just picked up 2 sets of the shell shocker for my next upgrade (very soon). HELLLOOO 16GB of ram (4x4GB). Might as well for $90 shipped.

I've had GB forever and I for sure notice the slowdowns sometimes.

Go for the 1600 stuff. The X series was specifically "made for P67", but there's no reason the old Ripjaws non-X stuff won't work, at least in this case, where both sets are rated at 1.5v.
