I am thinking it is a bad moherboard? This error isnt in the manual but I think it has something to do with the hard drive. I have never been able to install windows on this board, windows install gave me a blue screen with an error about "remove any new hardware or disable bios shadowing", disabling bios shadowing didnt change anything. Now this thing wont boot off of any drive and stops at 8d. I can change any settings in the bios. I have tried multiple hard drives/cdroms/floppy/cables. This is my second problem board off of the 760 chipset, the other being the MSI K7.

have you tried disabling keyboard power on? your PSU may not be giving it the juice it needs. I saw it in article 1053 @epox tech support. Also, have you installed the latest bios? I know your a pro but sometimes we miss the forrest for the trees. Please post either the fix or hard failure responsible.
