8cm case fan recommendations?

Finally decided to bite the bullet after MBM showed a CPU temp of 67 degrees under load for my Athlon XP 2600+. 😱

One of the easiest gains I can make is on my case fans - I've currently only got 1 8cm rear fan.

Can anyone recommend a good 8cm fan for the front of my case? I'm not bothered about aesthetics, just maximum airflow that's not too loud.

Cheers.

80 mm side intake would do better (especially with a duct going straight to the CPU). Most people would recommend a 80x38mm fan such as the Panaflo.

I have some thermaltake fans and they are no good so I recommend against them.

If your case has the space to accomodate them, try one of those silverstone oversized fans that have a 92mm fan in a 80mm fan body..

Buy Yate Loons for $4.95 on eBay either 120mm or 80mm. Cheaper shipping for more quantity ordered. Very quiet.

First thing you should do is check dust buildup on your heatsink(s). Check temps then, and consider buying a new cpu heatsink if they don't drop very much. Additional case air is nice, but start from the core.

Also I'd recommend modding for a 92 or 120mm fan instead of 80mm, or get one of those adapters if you have the space.
