I'm going to be building a box to run VMs using Hyper-V. I been leaning towards going AMD and not sure what advantages IOMMU offers. This will just be a personal box used to learn about virtualization. The reason I ask is I am looking at using an 880g board to save some money compard to 890FX and a vcard.

As long as I am asking. Is AMD the way to go? My thinking is a PII X6 and 880g is very well priced compared to Intel.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've had a couple biostar boards before and was not very pleased. I quess I'm looking towards ASUS/Gigabyte this time around. Might cost a little more but I want quality.

For what it's worth I use Biostar boards on all my builds you can not beat features price or performance and I have had zero problems with them.

very true biostar builds very good boards these days...I wouldnt hesitate using one if it fit my needs and budget...years ago they were quickery at times but these days rock solid boards from my experience and i use them in alot of customer builds and i can say ive had to rma none...just my 2 cents from my experience...
