On KT7A & 1.2 T-bird & 256 MB of RAM @ 2-2-2, it does 7300 in 3-D mark 2001SE under Win 98 SE...
Works fine, I will try to tweak it just al little bit higher.. will be back in 5 minutes...

Edit: On T-bird @ 1.33 Ghz 3-D mark goes up to about 7500, I guess its about time to change the mobo to DDR one..

Sure do man, SDRam is becoming dogishly slow by todays standards.

I need to get myself a new motherboard with some DDR too. This PC133 is getting a bit long in the tooth.

I think it is about $140.00 or $150.00 but my advice is just wait, and keep checking the refurbished section over at newegg.
Today I saw the Radeon 8500 again for $99.00 and I think it was the retail package as well, four days ago I saw some GF3 TI 200 for $89.00, really they have quite good deals over there from time to time, u just have to keep hunting like me :)

I'll say this, for the boatload of features that you get with the 8500 and the great gaming speed and PQ, anything under $200 is a good buy here.

It is certainly a card that still has yet to reach it's full potiential. Can't beat it under $150 with a stick with dog doo on the end of it. :)

I bought an 8500 recently. I am playing all my games on 1600x1200 with all the settings turned up to the max, and it is smooth as silk!

If i had £99 last week then i could have got one at the computer fair, with the Rage Theatre TVOut chip, but i only had £20! On the other side of the hall the 8500 was going for £220! :Q

That would have made a brilliant upgrade to my GF2MX!

Damn you! My refurb radeon 8500 64Mb retail from newegg was $99, and this was just last week! It still hasn't arrived yet, should be just another day or two. I wonder why mine was priced $10 more. Ah I'm not complaining, I'm so happy I'm getting mine for so cheap :)

I got one of the refurbed 8500's from Newegg for $99 last week too. I was surprised that it came with everything (even the CS CD). I am kinda underwhelmed by its performance, though, for some reason it dips below 15fps in Max Payne during heavy sequences (1024x768, highest settings). Tried different drivers, tweakers, OS clean install, everything. Oh well.

I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag...just in case, you know ^^

But there is an 8500 LE card at new egg listed in the ATI section for 108$, that WAS (but apparently not now) clocked at (and this makes no sense) 250/275? So i checked on pricewatch and many newer low end LE's are apparently clocked @ 250? This has to be a typo or just reseller ignorance, since the (sold out) official white box/OEM LE costs 10$ more and is definately clocked at 230/230. But maybe its not. At that price, a 250/250 8500 would be a pretty decent deal.

The OLD LE had part "#": RADEON 8500 LE, while the new (potentially 250) card was called RADEON 8500 LE 64M S. Any info on the potential differences?

I was kinnda worried too, so I started up the PowerStrip, which said 275/275 (actually it is 274.5/274.5)
so it looks like an fully grown original 8500...now just couple of days longer, and a new XP 1800 and DDR memory will arrive.... life is beautiful :D

Oh and I think that the LE version "build by ATI" comes with 128 MB of RAM in a BGA factor....

Adlep, yellowperil, when you got your refurbs how used were they? I just got mine and oh man, this thing has seen some use. The fan is FULL of dust. It's definately been used for awhile. I did get the full retail package with it though, cds, wires, manual, etc. Going to install it later on today, better not be another lemon :(

edit: LOL I just went through the manuals and noticed a -Toshiba cable modem owner's manual-. That ones a mystery haha.
