All,

I picked up a second 8800GTX card for fairly cheap from a friend, and am trying to figure out why I am getting such low (I think anyways) 3Dmark06 scores.. Here's my setup:

Q6600 OC'd to 3ghz
EVGA NF68 680i SLI motherboard
2GB XMS2 PC-8500 RAM
1 - BFG 8000GTX Card
1 - EVGA 8800GTX Card (this is the one I just got)
Coolermaster 1000W Real Power Pro PSU

What I am finding is that in XP with the 169.28 drivers, I'm getting around 16.3K 3dmark06 scores. In Vista 32bit, I'm getting around 15.1K 3dmark06 scores.

Does this seem kind of low given my setup??

that seems correct.

when I had a qx6700 at 3.2 GHz, I was getting 16.5K, when I had a Xeon X3230 at 3.6 Ghz I was getting 17.5K, now with my current setup I get just above 20K.

Great, thanks! How easy is it to push the Q6600 beyond 3.0ghz? I got to 3.0 by upping the FSB to 1333, but are there any easy to follow guides to push it beyond that?

It depends what stepping you have, G0 or B3. If you have a G0 you can get up to 3.6 GHz using anywhere between 1.35v to 1.40v and extremely good cooling. If you have a B3, you will find that the sweet spot is around 3.2 using around 1.3v to 1.35v.

Im not 100% sure which drivers I used when I ran 3dmark since I change drivers almost bi-weekly, but it was either a 169 or 171 driver. Still my score wont change more than 100-200 points due to drivers. Crashing the 20K wall is a combination of excellent overclock settings and a well tuned windows xp operating system. The cards are 100% at stock by the way, the only overclocked components are motherboard and CPU.
