Sorry if this topic never seems to go away, but...
I'm about to update a crummy graphics adapter and install something that will perform well in 3D AutoCAD. I was planning on a Quadro FX 3500, but it occurred to me that I could almost buy two 8800GTX cards for the cost of the Quadro. Can anyone that owns one of the 8800 boards tell me if RivaTuner will allow you to enable pro features (i.e. Quadro functions) ? Any chance that anyone has SpecViewPerf scores for the 8800 before and after pro features are enabled? If the answer to the 8800 is not doable, what is the highest GeForce card that can be made to function as a Quadro? Last one I can seem to find on the web is a 6800 Ultra.
Also, if the 8800 can be made to work, would running two in SLI provide worthwhile performance gains over a single card for high-powered graphics work?
Thanks
