For those who have the GTX; what is your fan RPM? When I run MCE 2005; I could adjust the fan RPM. Now in Vista; ntune cannot control the fan anymore. Now I notice the GTX fan is running at measly 4 RPM. I even touch the fan; I don't feel any velocity in it.

But then again; the GTX is idle around 61C; max temp at 75% while play Titan Quest for few hours.

you mean the fan is actually only turning once every 15 seconds? card must be running pretty hot/overheating

i doubt those kind of fans can even turn that slowly. so its either stopped completely, or its not reading the sensor correctly

There is no way it's running at 4 RPM. It would shut down altogether long before that. If the card is running fine otherwise, the sensor is probably just off.

Exactly.

There is no way you watched that blade for 15 secs and saw it turn once.

You may have lost manual fan speed control in Vista for the moment, but since automatic fan speed is regulated by tempeture sensors on the card itself and temps arn't getting out of hand I wouldn't worry about it.

That is what the ntune monitor reported it; 4 RPM. May be the ntune incorrectly reading it. The fan does spin continuously but very very slow...I don't feel air coming out of the GTX exhaust grill at all when i put my hand close to it. My computer doesn't crash even 4-5 hours gaming.

I do, however, have an antec SpotCool fan blow air on the GTX and an antec Cyclone Blower right beneath it. I know the manufacturer default setting for the GTX is to maintain 75C. May be my GTX temp is 61C and never reach 75C max that's why the fan spins soooooooo slow.

It's cool then as long as the GTX regulates the fan speed; i'm ok.
