8800GTX Cpu Limited?

I have read many forums and heard many opinions but I cannot find a straight answer with actual proof if the 8800GTX is cpu limited with the current Conroes?
We all know that Nvidia needs some serious driver optimization with the 8800 series cards, especially in Vista, however I recently just purchased an 8800GTX and would really like to know if my E6600 will limit the GPU, even if I overclock it to 3.2ghz and play games with full AA/AF, etc... at high resolutions?
I currently own a Dell Ultrasharp 20.1" which maxes out at 1600x1200, however I plan on buying a 2407FPW so 1920x1200 resolutions should be obtainable for me soon.
I plan on staying with XP, until MS and Nvidia get their act together with Vista.

At lower resolutions, an 8800 gtx will definitely be bottlenecked by cpu speed, because the game will rely less on gpu power and more on cpu power. In this case a conroe would crush the competition.

If you bump your resolution up to 1920x1200 or 2560x1600, the game will rely heavily on the gpu and much less on the cpu. In this case, conroe gains wouldn't be significant at all.

I am running that exact setup with a westinghouse 37" @ 1920x 1080. I am not overclocking and the only game that I have run in to where there is a bottleneck is the Supreme Commander Beta with 7 A.I. players and 500 units a piece. I have heard that optimizations have been made to the code at this point and my problem there was ram as far as I can tell (2 gigs DDR2-800). You will not have trouble running anything with that hardware. Newer games will obviously present new challenges but it is difficult to know where the bottleneck will be. I also have XP and plan on waiting for vista. On a side note, if I were you, I would spring for the westinghouse monitor that I have, or wait for a refresh of this model (w3). I am very happy with it.

There is currently nothing faster than a Conroe so therefore its impossible to say that it is or isn't the bottleneck in an 8800GTX setup.
