8800GTs worried!

So i order my new comp with a EVGA 8800GTs. Now im worried.

So i cant use dx10 without vista so how will this card run dx9 games on 1680 x 1050?

I just read a thread about it not working well on Oblivion and this is one of the games i really wanted.

Also i hear the games cant recoganize the card? Will older games like the sims 2, black and white 2, half life 2, and counter strike source work
 
It will work fine with everything. You don't need DX10. DX9 games will run smooth as butter at 1680x1050. Oblivion will run fine. All the other games will run fine. Don't worry. Be happy. Anything else?
 
will my processor and other parts be good?

OC that conroe and it'll be even better then better 😉

The DX10 performance is yet to be seen and the DX9 performance rocks, especially at 1680x1050.

Oblivion is one of the games that the G80 works pretty regularly in. Splinter Cell: Double Agent is a different story though.

The source-based games will probably have a little fog effect that Valve needs to deal with from what I hear. But other than that I haven't seen any complaints about the G80 not working well with B&W2 and Sims2.

They may not know what settings to use but it only takes 5 mins to tell it to use 1680 x 1050 and setting everything to high

 
so apparently dec. 7th new drivers r comin out to fix prob? cant som1 please notify me if this does happen?

It runs like sh!t on any machine.
Not to mention it's unstable.

Look, be happy with the 8800GTS. It's one of the best cards that there is.
If you OC the 8800GTS, you might reach GTX levels.
 
this is such a huge dissappointment for me. ive watch all the videos and seen all the pics and have been following this game for a long time. not a real fan of ubisofts forums so i havent heard of the probs. this really sucks, i really hope this is fixed b4 christmas!
