I noticed 1GB versions of 8800GT's are starting to appear. Asus annonced theirs. And I saw a Palit 8800GT 1GB for sale. I've read discussions about how the increased memory may not be that beneficial and that there are no reviews or benchmarks on these cards yet. However, could it be worse than the 512 versions? Seems to me that they are the same price if not lower than the 512mb versions. So why not just get one with more memory since it cant be worse? Or am I missing something?

::makes one last ditch effort to be noticed for saying this::

1GB is nice because you'll be able to run Vsync AND triple buffering pretty much without interruption. Not to mention run high quality texture mods for oblivion

That Sparkle isn't a good option. It works at around 115 C on load and has only one year warranty.

i believe the 8800gt imo will be limited by its memory bandwidth well before it will run of vram. if you can get one for the same price or less than a 512mb version, like stated before, then go for it, but i doubt the extra vram will really make a big difference.
