Guys,

I got a nice 24" screen but never realized how much of a graphics hit a higher rez's i was going to take.

Currently running an 8800GTS.

Whats the best option for single card

or crossfire right now?

Best option is wait a week for the HD 4750 to come out and more reviews to permeate the nets. Once we see where we're at, then we can give an educated answer.

Is that a G92? A 4850 probably won't be much better so you'd have to look at something like the GTX 260 or crossfire 2 4850s.

It's a pretty taxing game, to be honest. I'm playing it at 16x10 with 95% of everything maxed, with no AA and I'm averaging 30-60fps.

I'd skip the 9800s and jump up to a 280GTX if you can afford it. ;)

It is very taxing..

I'm averaging 35 fps.

2x AA.. I think one of the main problems with AoC is the driver issues I've been having..

it is a G92.

From the 4850 review thread:

Computerbase sorted out DX 10 - Benchmark

Assassin's Creed 1680x1050 4xAA/16xAF:
GT 280 : 61
HD4850 : 56
9800GTX : 45

what type of GTS is it? if it is the 320 or 640MB version there is room to upgrade, if it is the 512MB G92 version then your only upgrade options are SLI, Crossfire, or a GTX200 series (worst option of the three)
