Hey all,
I was just wondering...
I've been looking around the internet and asking about the NV 8800GTS, and some sources seem to say that the BIOS must be flashed in order to change the shader clock (standard is 1200mhz), and another person told me that the shader clock increases as you overclock the core.
Can anybody tell me for sure what is the truth? Is it possible to OC the shader without flashing the BIOS (ie through OCing the core and having the shader clock go up too)?
Thanks in advance. The reason I'm asking is there are two XFX 8800GTS models for sale:
one at 580/1800 and 1500mhz shader
and
one at 500/1600 and 1200mhz shader ($30 less)
I know I can easily OC the first two (core/memory), but not sure if I can as easily OC the shader and save some money.
