I downloaded the latest driver for the 8800 series from the NVidia website and also the altest nTune...but I can't find where to look for the GPU temps....I hate this new control panel

ANyone know where to find it?

EDIT fixed: NVidia Monitor shows it

It shows my GTS is idling at 65 celcius in a P180 case with all fans working...is that right?

Edit:Started another thread with my experience:

Okay after running 3DMark06...now it's idling at 77Celcius...that can't be right. Is NVidia monitor screwed up or something?

Areyou manually setting the fan speeds, or letting the drivers control them? I'd manually set them to 100% (I'm told that the sound still isn't noticeable).

Yeah it's on automatic...okay I'll try manual and see.

Okay just tried and on 100% the sound is DEFINITELY noticeable and GPU temp. stays at 77celcius at idle.

EDIT 2: Okay nevermind I restarted Nvidia monitor and it's down to 60 celcius...I guess it gets stuck at a certain temp until u restart. I kept the fan at 70%. 100% is definitely noticeable.

Damn the old control panel was a lot better. I could OC, change 3D settings, and view GPU temp. with a couple of clicks. Now I have to open up another program just to view the temps.

You need to use nTune now for temp monitoring and fan control.

Or you can use a tweaker like RivaTuner.

I got 617/1814, but the test in ntune allows it to go to 750 core and still says it is okay. Of course when I hit apply the GPU throttled on me and I had to reboot. I went through the GPU stability test @650/2200 but I don't trust it. I just set it at the smallest OC based on the reviews and put the fan on 95%. Max temp is 66C so far.

Does anyone know how to find the CSAA modes? I only see up to 4x, no enhance application anywhere. I too liked the old panel. I can't find the optimizations or anything.

thilan29, your sig says you have a 7900GTO. How would you compare the noise levels of the cooler on that card with the cooler on the 8800GTS (@ automatic).

(If you'll allow me to highjack your thread for a moment...)

Hehe, haven't updated the sig yet.

The cooler on the 7900GTO was very quiet, but then I always left it on auto so it probably wasn't spinning that fast anyway.

On the 8800GTS, at 100% the fan is VERY audible (at least to my virgin ears that haven't been corrupted by all sorts of portable audio devices ;) ). I keep it at about 75% and that is not very audible at all.
