8800GTS (G92) Price?

Anyone have an idea what the new 8800GTS (G92) will be priced at? I got my eVGA Superclocked 8800GT for $250 and if the new 8800GTS is within ~$50 range...I will step-up but if it will cost like $350+ then forget it...unless performance is really worth the extra $100. Soooo...anyone know or had an idea of performance and price? and if it worth stepping-up for a budget/"best deal"/"bang for buck" guy like me?

Like they always say....If you have to ask it costs too much. 🙂 I read that it could be between $310-$350. I don't believe it will be below $300 anytime soon. At release day if there aren't anymore 8800GT's it will start at $350.

But since you are stepping up it will be at MSRP which is the $310-$350 figure that I've read somewhere. Maybe you'll get lucky and the base model will be $299. That is a best case scenario. The base 8800GT is still $269.99 at EVGA and you know it will be more than $30 above that for the GTS.

I thought the current "new" gts is worse then the GT for some things... It is about the same with the GT winning some tests and the new GTS winning others... only the G92 based GTS should show a clear victory over the GT.

Biggest benefit of the "new" gts is that the higher memory bandwidth (which exited in the old GTS, but didn't matter due to the GPU being inferior) makes it more attractive in SLI. But in single card performance you are better off with a GT... or waiting for G92 GTS.

well theres 2 new GTSes.

theres the 8800gts special or whatever its called which is g80 with 112 shaders.

then there is the 8800gts that will have the g92 core with 128 shaders. hes talking about the g92 based one.
