8800gts Artifacting in Company of Heroes

I am using the 8800gts at stock settings and I have artifacts on my screen. I did do some overclocking so maybe I permananelty damaged my card. I doubt it because the overclock was mild anyways. +10mhz, etc.

nope. it doesnt do it in supcomm or cs :s. nor does it do it for oblivion
my temps are 57 idle and in game its 72

I've had that happen to me before with Company of Heroes. Every other game works just fine with my GTS including CoH, except for when I put some mods into the game, then all the tearing seems to happen. So, are you running any mods with CoH?

ya, im using that one too but i hate these artifacts....i dont know why im getting them.

did you overclock before or is it at stock right now?

i also have an evga branded 8800gts.

That?s not artifacts, that's the secret axis POO bomb.

OC 10MHHZ so you might get 1more FPS......

It's probably a driver issue others have had the same problem. Try messing with the settings.

At stock now. No overclocks done. Lots of people are having issues, it's just a driver problem, nothing more...

Sounds like a driver issue for sure.

If your memory was hosed it would happen in more games than just CoH.

Have you tried messing around with driver settings? Texture quality, etc...

I will mess around with the texture quality.

I do not like how nvidia launched their 8800 series of cards with drivers that are absolute garbage.

What a great way to make money ..... but what a crappy way to treat their customers.

The newest driver should take care of the problem 😉

There was a SLI problem similar to yours so it's likely it was fixed with the newest driver. If it's not, you can try some older drivers too.

And make sure to use driver cleaner pro when you uninstall the old ones.

I have seen that on mine before, I ended up reinstalling COH and it went away.

aw crap. looks like i may have to reinstall it. it doesnt come often but if i manage to catch it, it always seems to haev something to do with the texturing.
