8800GTS a worthwhile upgrade?

It feels as if my graphics cards are the limiting factor at 1920x1200. There is definitely room for improvement in some games. Currently, im running an FX-60 with 4 GB ram, so im going to hold off on the cpu upgrade until next round.

So my question is will i see much of an improvement replacing my SLI setup with a single 8800GTS 640?

Thanks!

Don't know what to say on this. I think it depends on what games you play personally. Some games do better with a single 8800 then with 2x7800's, Oblivion comes to mind immediately.

From the benchmarks I've seen the 8800GTS is comparable and in some cases better than a 7900GT SLI setup so it would be pretty much the same for the 7800GTX SLI setup (since 7900GT>7800GTX) But with the 8800GTS you get DX10 capability not to mention the improved IQ which is likely worth more than the minimal FPS increase.

Also the 640MB of memory on the 8800GTS will start to make a big difference at higher resolutions and in games that require a lot of texture memory (i.e. GRAW)
