Why doesn't that make sense? The non-disclosure agreement has nothing to do with putting the card up for pre-sale. You just won't read any reviews until the NDA is lifted.

Comments?

With a mild overclock yes, I'm betting that's where it falls. Not too shabby considering the change I paid for a GTX (and that I sold it for $500).

I have a GTS 320MB right now and I just want to know that if I get it sold for US$250 (~ J$18,000), and then spend US$350-400 on the G92 GTS, that I would not be making a mistake. Bear in mind that I'm planning to get a 24" monitor as well.

1) Mistake or no?
2) Wait until February or no?

because they don't ship it out until on or after the release date. Which by then the NDA has been lifted, unless of course they make a mistake.

I'd wait.

IMO, it makes sense to upgrade only if you can double the performance. Otherwise, it is just an update, not an upgrade.

I UP-graded to 8800GT from 7950GT, doubling the performance.

Will not think about a new card until 9950, or whatever it might be called.

Several of us had our 8800GTS 512mb ship today. ;)

Of course thats only a day early and no one will get it before tomorrow so it's probably still within the rules and all.

ok that explains it... the site I was looking at simply said "in stock"... it said nothing about it not shipping it until a certain date.

Well it was the only logical answer I could think of, other than it shipping out the day before and arriving on that day when the NDA is off.

I heard that they sometimes do that... a "deliver on <date>" kind of shipping so that a person who preorders gets it the day it was released... realistically, they could sell it on the 10th. Have it packed and shipped on the 11th.. and even if you choose overnight delivery you will get it the EARLIEST at the 12th.
