Hey...

I may be able to get the money from my used 8800GT and buy a 9800GT. I know they are basically the same speed but bleh.

Does anyone know the sizes of the cards? IE length? Which if either are shorter or longer in length?

Depends on the brand. I know my BFG is a relabeled 8800GT, and by that I mean they took a 8800GT and stuck a 9800GT cooler and sticker on it. It still has the blue 8800GT sticker on the back with the S/N crossed off with a sharpie.

Wait.. Why would you do that? If you have an 8800GT already, why get what is essentially the same exact card?

This would be a good project if you like wasting your time. There isn't much point going to a 9800GT. Have you tried just overclocking your 8800GT?

Here's a review for 9800gt
It doesn't outperform a 8800gt by more than a couple of fps in anything. Most of the time, they are the same or 1fps off.
Only logical reason you might have for buying a 9800gt is if you want to sli.

It was a project for wasting my time.... heh.

I was hoping the 9800gt might be shorter length thats all. Someone said theyd buy my 8800GT for $115 so I could just turn around and buy a newer 9800GT. :p

If they are the same length, then I wont bother. I got a little cramping issue in my case. My 8800GT is basically touching the hard drive... lol.

I know the 9800GT uses slightly less power I believe, so that was basically the idea...
