8800GT vs 9600GT

Hey I want to buy a new card and the two I had in mind was the 8800gt and the 9600gt. Can you please tell me which one is better and if there is another card please mention ! (I have to stick in this price range THANX!)

Radeon 4850 > 8800GT >9600GT

What is your PSU? If you gots a weak PSU the 9600GT is probably your safest bet.

The 8800GT is a great card; I run one currently. But the 8800GT is $150 while the 4850 is $200. For an extra $50 you get a LOT MORE performance. Hands down, go for the 4850; it's the BEST card for under $200 ATM.

9600GT's are down to 99.00 at some vendors. I think for the money, it is the best card out there. Lower power consumption and heat if that matters in your situation. If you do have a bigger budget, I would go for the 4850 which is about 150.00 AR. But they use more power and run quite hot.

Actually if you look around, the 4850 has been available for $150 after rebates and discounts before.

This brings about the same conclusion though, get the 4850.

I didn't know that. That's a darn good price for a card that beats a 8800GT! Too bad I can't do XFire on my motherboard; $300 for a pair of those would be hard to beat. Ah, to think I paid $300 for my 8800GT. This habit gets expensive, man!

Front page has yet another coupon deal on a Sapphire version. I think it's approximately the same deal since the card is $5 less, but shipping is $8.25 so a small tradeoff.
