Has anyone experienced slower 2D performance with the 8800 series video card...?
The 3D performance is obviously much better than my 7950GT, but even the "Transparent Windows" test in PCMark05 has ~1100 with 8800GT vs. ~1500 with 7950GT.
When I open "Quicken 2007", the graphs and the whole interface seems "wavy", refreshing a few times, like if it was trying to run at 1650x1050 with no NForce drivers installed.
I have noticed that it happens only in Quicken, and everything else seems to be running fine, or is not really noticable.
I had not noticed anything like that with the 7950. Browsing the web, I have found some comments that the 2D hardware acceleration might have been abandoned in the 8800 series card and XP drivers by NVidia.
Is this possible? Has anyone experienced decreased 2D performance with 8800 series cards...?
Thanks for sharing your opinions.
