So I'm building my new system and my 2nd 8800GT SSC from EVGA comes in. Hook them up, install the drivers and it pretty much works on the first try. Then I find out that EVGA has a new BIOS that improves fan speeds and some other fixes, so I flash the cards. This is where the problems start. I've been using 3DMARK 2006 to bench the system and I don't think my SLI is working anymore...
Intel Core2 Duo 6850
Asus P5N32E-SLI Plus Motherboard
2xEVGA 8800GT SSC @700mhz factory oc
My old 3dMark score would be around 12100ish when I don't oc anything. The first time I got SLI working I was at 15300 in 3Dmark
Now when I start benching after messing with drivers and such I seem to be at old or worse performance levels. For instance, on the very first screen when the marines are in the ship I used to top out at 90-92 at it's peak. The first time I went SLI I was able to get that number up to 110 fps. Now that I've flashed, etc, I either get 90, 89, or worse, or if I mess with the settings more it could be only 45 fps!!
I've applied all the hotfixes from microsoft including the new one for SLI that you have to request. I've run Nvidia driver cleaner, reinstalled to 169.12, and I'm out of ideas.
I know that 3dmark isn't a real world test, but if I can't see an improvement in THAT how do I know if Crysis is running at it's best?
Help?
