I have a A8V-E deluxe motherboard, I had an x800 XL video card, was working fine.

I took out the x800 xl, put in the 8800GT, plugged in the molex power connectors, powered on the computer and I get no video at all.

BTW, for anyone that is thinking about doing this, the card is so long it directly blocks one of my sata connectors on the board. That really pissed me off when I found that out.

I doubt the card is bad, it was a retail card but I'm just wondering if there is possibly an incompatibility between my motherboard and the video card?

The video card is in the slot nicely, the fan on the video card turns on.

I don't know why it would not at least give video.

If it was not enough power, like if you did not plug in the molex connector wouldn't it give an error on your monitor saying so?

Your motherboard uses a VIA chipset with PCIE 1.0a, that combination is not compatible with PCIE 2.0 unfortunately.
