For him I'd opt for a 7770, with all the work AMD is doing on 7xxx series drivers lately.

The 7770 would be a great upgrade at the price point, especially with newer driver it should start to beat the 6850 (at least in dx11 titles.)

a 460 1GB would be great, for the right price. From my experience tho, I will say grab the EVGA 560 Ti it will go perfectly with your CPU which I used to have so I know...

Surely some of the cards mentioned would be heavily bottlenecked by an non-oc'ed Q6600 cpu?

He is wondering if a 6570 for $70-$80 (CA) is worth it?

7770 would work well with that CPU actually. 6570 is a downgrade and would be gpu limited in probably every single game
