I started a similar thread about 1 month ago, but obviously more people own the card now.

I would suggest adding the Feature Test results, since the FPS are more telling than the 3DMarks, and the 3DMarks alone are very much CPU dependent.

I don't see the point of these threads, other than for bragging rights.

I treat them as a learning experience - that's why I want to see the FPS, not just the final score!

The score is meaningless - the FPS of the feature tests say it all!

Your FPS is probably pretty similar to us 10,000 point users. 3DMark is bullshit, don't let it get to you. Your CPU is what prevented you from getting a higher score.

That's an interesting comparison with my setup, which is very similar, except: E6600 OC'd to 2.925GHz, but BFG 8800GT stock 625/1566/1800.

So the faster processor is really very important for the FPS!

It's all about the CPU in 3dmark06

Intel E4300 @ 3300mhz

EVGA 8800GTS Max OC @811/1949/2002 = 12133 3dmark06

EVGA 8800GTS Default @670/1674/1944 = 11603 3dmark06

I also ran the same tests at

E4300 default speed 1800mhz

EVGA 8800GTS Max OC @811/1949/2002 = 7788 3dmark06

EVGA 8800GTS Default @670/1674/1944 = 7610 3dmark06

Mine is the 8800GTS 640 SSC with the A2 core & 112 stream processors that was quietly released in November. Stock clocks are 575 core/1350 shader/900 mem. I'm running it OCed @ 620/1453/975.

E2180 @ 3.25ghz
3GB Ballistix @ 4:5 (325 FSB: 406 RAM), 4-4-4-8
Abit IP35-E

3DMark06 with GPU @ stock = 10826
3DMark06 with GPU OCed = 11387

That's a phenomenal OC on air. Clearly illustrates how the 3DMark is balanced between CPU and video. Just for the record, my ATI card gets 11706 right now, but I'm not done tweaking yet. goal is 12K and Prime stable.

I think something is wrong,

My Specs

I get like 9567 points at with HD3870 @ stock.

You should be breaking 10k with a Stock GT and that setup.

Hmm still single core cpu tho..
