I have a 8800gs(550clock/800mem), at stock speeds and get a single yellow always appears at the same point when using scan for artifacts. It takes between 1 and 10 seconds to appear, this will will be gone and will do it again.

When I run atitool and the first time I scan for artifacts it counts them as errors, if I abort looking for errors and run it again I still will get that yellow dot to come in and out but it won't count them as artifacts.

I have tried lowering the speeds to see if that would do anything but doesn't seem to do anything. When it does show the error it says,

"Delta of 165 in 2 pixels (82.5 avg). No errors for " how ever long it's been running.

But then when it goes back to just saying No errors for the time it's starts at 0. Even though when it says that other error it says no errors for much longer time.

Have you noticed any screen corruption during games or other 3d software? If your card does this at stock speeds, I'm inclined to think that is defective. Maybe you should uninstall and reinstall your drivers and see if it does it again. Also, what temperatures are you having?

I have not noticed anything while playing games. I have reinstalled everything and still get the exact same thing. I have even tried lowering the speed of the card and still get the same thing. if it's under load for a while it hits 65C. What I think is kind of strange is that it is only a single yellow dot and it always appears in the same spot.

Maybe it's a weird ATI tool bug. Try FurMark and see what happens. Use 32X AA and run the stability test. If you encounter any other screen corruption I'd say that something is wrong with your videocard. If you don't, then maybe ATI tool is nuts.
