i've heard ntune does not work with vista. actually i've used it in xp also and it was buggy as hell. for some reason i'd have to change the fan speed 3 times for it to stick. and after i restart the pc the clock speed and fan speed reset. i've tried the profile thing as well, and the it doesn't load automatically when conditions are met. hell it doesnt even load manually, giving me an error when i tried to load it.

my question is this: i'm currently on vista business 32bit (stupid actionpack only had vista business upg disc) with evga 8800gts 640mb using 100.65 driver. what program is best for changing the fan speed and possibly some overclocking as well? mainly i'd like to be able to up the rev on the fan a bit and have it stick after rebooting.

right now the evga is stock clocked at 513mhz vs 500mhz and the memory is slightly underclocked, i think from 800mhz to 796mhz. the fan is set at 60% speed, i'd like to get this to stick at 80 to 100%.

My 8800GTS was always clocked 513/792... I suppose that's just how it is. As for the fan speed, I've tried setting it in nTune (I'm running vista 32-bit) but it just resets back to 59% of whatever the stock is when I restart the system.

There isn't a Vista program that'll change your fan speed and keep it during reboots. You'll have to run NTune every time you restart.

ATITool 0.27 will overclock your video card fine. It's the best Vista tool I've found for OCing a video card in Vista
