So who wants to guess how fast 7900 prices will fall? On another note, anyone know if the GTX has been discontinued?

Considering the 8800GTX is more than twice as fast as a 7900GTX, the 7900GTX's true value is now about $325. We'll see whether card manufacturers are willing to sell any at that price but it doesn't seem likely once existing stock is gone.

I'd say existing stock is pretty much gone. I was curious because MSI offered the $80 rebate on zzf but I refuse to buy anything from zzf again.

Yeah these cards will fall a lot in price once Vista and DX10 is out (and Crysis too).

But how long until a dx10 card will be had for $300 or less?
That will ultimately determine how high the other prices stay.

Since Vista has no place in my home, I'll be picking up an XFX 7950GT, maybe 2, once the the bomb drops in couple months.

The card isn't only twice as powerful, but the feature set, the new AA's and improved AF, and all the new stuff that makes the card awesome also needs to be taken into consideration.
