I have noticed that it is impossible to find 8800 series cards at best buy and circuit city stores. Anyone have a clue as to why they are not selling these? they are widely availible. I KNOW I can get one cheaper online, my problem is I have NO WHERE safe that I can have ti shipped to, and also I am just curious... I have mentioned it to employees, but I get the normal blank stare, I don't think most of them have any idea what I'm talking about when I ask them about it.....

Dont know if you have one nearby, but CompUSA has a lot of 8800's in stock near me.

When you walk into a BB and see a 7800GS AGP selling for $399, that should say it all.

High MSRP, low turnover, low sales, low margins. BB and CC just couldn't price high-end parts aggressively enough to move them and still justify a spot on the sales floor, so they just stopped carrying them.

But ya like SexyK said CompUSA stocks them, also if you have MicroCenter or Fry's locally you can pick em up there for close to e-tailer prices when they run sales.

Nope, I'm in Michigan, about as far away from good retail pc part pricing as you can possibly get..... I do have a compusa however. I could check that out. The older parts at best buy BM were actually not AS overpriced as they normally were I was surprised.. the pci express 7950 was under 300......

If you're in Michigan and any where near Detroit/Lansing, there are MicroCenters too., Sometimes good deals.
