Would rather run the game in native resolution than having it stretched up. I personally use a 19" and think it's pretty small, I think a 24" will be very ideal. 30", like someone said before, will take up much desk space, it's too big to be looked at; you probably want to sit on sofa to use your PC.
The problem is since this monitor does not support hardware scaling, how the game will look @19x12 resolution for example... How it will be displayed in the screen? Stretched or with bars ? I think 19x12 has the same aspect ratio with 25x16 so why shouldn't it scale good in full screen without bars?
My other question is with my 8800GTX would I be able to use a second monitor? 99% sure I can't but just asking..
you can choose whether to scale or not scale from the nv cp. if you scale, your frames will be worse because your video card has to rescale 1920x1200 to 2560x1600, which is hard work. if you choose 'do not scale' then the output will be centered with black bars around it (1:1 pixel ratio). I prefer the latter. anything non-native or not 1:1 at least, looks plain bad regardless if the VGA rescales or the LCD rescales.
and also FYI 1280x800 is a 1/4 of the resolution, not a 1/2.
