$659???

I think I'll wait for <$600 (holidays?? maby not :()
Hopefully, with more widespread availability, the prices will go down.

A few weeks after a launch, the prices do go down right?

Yea the price will drop about $100 in a month or so. But they may stay the same for Xmas. I wish they would have made some lower end modles though.

The 8800 GTX does offer 100% improvement in FPS over the 7900 GTX in so many games according to the review posted on the home page.

There is more justification with this card for astronomical prices than with the previous gen and yet we see prices lower than the 700-800.00+ the 7900GTX was introduced at.

Hmm, I thought the GTS was MSRP $449 (Egg @ $499) and the GTX MSRP was $599 (Egg @ $659).

Maybe I'm misinformed . . . . wouldn't be the first time ;)

Well, considering different 8800 models wont hit the street till February the only thing that'll make prices drop significantly between now and then (other than the example Tyler offered) would be if ATI was to launch their DX10 cards.
