I've gone for the GTS.
I figured I save £100 towards my Xbox 360.

And if I need more juice, I can always sell and rebuy later.
I need to ease up on my spending.

Good news is, I paid only £325 for it!
Which is a bargain.

Considering an X1950 XTX is around £310 and other sites have the 8800 GTS for around about £370.

Viva la 8800!!

Also, I sold my 7950 GX2 for £380.
So I made a profit of £55 switching to the 8800 GTS!!

From the leaks from this thread, and today's leak from DailyTech:

NVIDIA_G80.DEV_0191.1 = "CompoTech GeForce 8800 GTX"
NVIDIA_G80.DEV_0192.1 = "CompoTech GeForce 8800 GT"
NVIDIA_G80.DEV_0193.1 = "CompoTech GeForce 8800 GTS"
The GeForce 8800 powerhouse was announced earlier today with much fanfare, but it appears as more products are already in the pipeline. According to internal NVIDIA roadmaps released yesterday, the company is expecting at least one more G80 derivative in February of 2007.

Both the GeForce 8800GTX and 8800GTS cards are based on the same G80 processor, even though the 8800GTS is a cut down of the same core; the 8800GTX features 128 unified shaders while the 8800GTS features only 96. Additionally, the 8800GTS is a smaller card, with less cooling and a lower profile PCB.

Although vendors are tight lipped about the upcoming card, it seems that the only two options the card may be is either another cut down -- which is common as yields mature -- or a multi-GPU solution similar to the GeForce 7950GX2.
I think it's kinda clear that we can think of 8800 GTS as something like 7600 GTS compared to 7600 GT. It is no wonder the performance gap between the 8800 GTX and the 8800 GTS is rather large.

If can you oc the 8800GTS to ~620/1800-2000 like a few websites have you will dominate a 7950GX2, and have 8800GTX performance.
