So i got a new 8800gts 320 and it was running warcraft three at about 130-70 fps. When i purchased a new motherboard and put the 8800 into it my frames dropped to 64-30.

So i called evga and they said i need to reformat...

I just want to know if there is anyway around this, i dont want to lose my files and programs. For example i lost my cd key for warcraft 3 and if i reformat i wont be able to reinstall it, plus i got alot of movies and i dont feel like burning all of them onto dvd discs.

is there anyway where i can get my video card running smooth on my motherboard without having to reformat?

i have windows XP on a HP computer.

Reinstall the drivers. Run driver cleaner to make sure all the files are deleted and install from there.

i've already deleted and reinstalled the video card drivers twice, are you talking about the motherboard drivers?

Your key for world of warcraft should be in your registry. Look for it there.

And the techs are right- it is probably in your best interest to re-install windows. A new motherboard+bios is a major change.

i can't seem to find the cd key is regedit, its warcraft 3 btw not WOW.

anyways i deleted and reinstalled all the drivers that came with this new motherboard (DFI infinity NF4 SLI) and video card.

still the same results hitting 65 fps on war 3

Yeah you need to start from scratch and reinstall windows. Your Warcraft key should be in the registry. check in HKEY Local machine\software.

You should always reformat windows after doing a major upgrade such as swapping out motherboards.
