heyy there..i have got a problem whilst installing drivers of my XFX 8800 GTS (320mb/320bit)..i don't know what went wrong but out of no where it just stopped working..there was no display whatsoever on my monitor but when i plugged the monitor back in my built in VGA controller it started giving display..i tried installing the drivers but to no avail..all i get is a notification that windows has detected a new 3D Video Controller & asks me for its drivers..i have even tried installing it manually from the device manager but but it says that the device cannot be started (error code 10)..i have tried almost every diagnostic that i had in my mind & now i am totally clueless..i don't know whether my GPU has expired or the PCI-e slot is dead..please help as i'd really appreciate it!

p.s. these are my PC's specifications:

AMD 3500+ AM2 Socket (Processor)
MSI's nforce K9N Series (Motherboard)
Kingston's 2GB DDR-2 667MHz (RAM)
Seagate's Barracuda 250GB (ATA)
XFX's 8800 GTS (320mb/320bit)
Cooler Master's 500W (PSU)
Windows XP (32bit-SP3)

(apart from the other usual hardware stuff)

The drivers you download from Nvidia have their own installer.
What driver package are you trying to install?

try uninstalling the nvidia display drivers from the control panel (if you havent already done so already), and then try reinstalling the nvidia drivers. you may have to use driver cleaner to clean out the older drivers.
