i need some input for issues below:

1. I am looking to connect via dvi to hdtv adapter supplied with the card, what is the best dvd playing software picturewise and any other tips to get the best image and surround sound?

2. I have asus an8-32x with optical out, is this my best option for sound or is it my only option? my receiver is onkyo tsr- 600?

3. Any software caliberation utlilities for best quality of the image i can play with, or a waste of time?

1. Any DVD playing software should have the same quality since its controlled from the source not the software. I recommend Power DVD

2. No clue

3. I have a 37 Westy, and I had to calibrate the Monitor itself to display the best picture. You can use NVIDIA's control panel to adjust the mix of colors, but I found actually adjusting the Display itself showed the best results.

I am assuming you dont have the projector yet, and you will find the answer to these question after you play around with it for awhile. Then you can ask a more specific question.

In terms of picture quality, I would recommend anything that uses ffdshow as decoder/processor.

Zoom Player Pro, Media Player Classic, and Theater Tek are all capable of doing that for DVD. Using scaling and noise reduction within ffdshow, you can get excellent dvd upconversion results.

Avia and Digital Video Essentials are both excellent calibration utilities for your display.
