It may not be a refurb. For those who do not remember consumerdepot.com, they are liquidators who sell products in various states of condition that come from retailers. The product may have been a floor model from a big retail electronics store, a customer return to a retail store, a damaged or open box item, old stock, etc. "Deals" from consumerdepot.com pop up from time to time around here. Experiences varied for people here. Some people came out ok and some people had major problems with the products. I have experienced both. The last deal I remember being posted was for HL2 which was selling for $15 IIRC right after it came out and was selling for $50 new. Many people here found that the license key had already been used. They were able to get it resolved by contacting Valve. It appears that a lot of the boxes were returns where the customer used the key then returned the software to the store.

I actually bought 2 copies of HL2 from Consumerdepot and at least one was perfectly fine (I don't remember whether the other one was or if I ever used it).
