8800 GT fan speeds and temperature

What kind of temperature should I be expecting with the fan speed set at 60%? 70%? 80%? The GT will be at stock speed.

Thanks, need help deciding whether I get a GT or a GTS.
 
Well you should be getting somewhere around 72-75C with the fan at 70%, at least that was what I was getting. Pushing the fan speed further didn't gave me any better temperature. You should also note that after 60% the fan is louder then a helicopter. After a month I couldn't stand it anymore, and I bought myself an S1 with a silent 120 mm fan and it's totally silent, plus that I have a load temperature of only 48 C now.
 
I think I'm gonna order the Gigabyte 8800 GT that comes with the Zalman cooler. The temps look awfully good 🙂
