I just starting using my 8800GT and Crysis came with the card, this game makes the 8800 seem like a inferior card, this cant run at high with fast frame rates. is this because of direct X 10 in Vista? seems like its not a good idea for a video card maker to include a game with there card that brings it to its knees,
I think crysis came out a bit to early, they should have just waited for the next gen cards to come out.
I think it's the IHV's who are late in delivering new high end cards.
I think it's a well timed play on the consumer. Crysis' release date was pushed back from September to November. Both HW camps with refreshes, but neither with a single card solution to run Crysis. SLI or Crossfire, that's what you need. But wait, it's still not enough to maximize this gaming experience. To the rescue will be new product from both camps in a few short months. Already leaked are pics of X2 3870's and talk of new GTX's.
After enough mid-range cards are sold with the current refresh, and enough high end cards are sold with the next release, solid drivers and game patches will appear and we'll have conqured the Crysis challenge.
Whole economies are driven by a simple principle, consumers satisfying their needs, wants, and desires. If you watch carefully enough, you'll see how timing and availability play key roles. The goal is to maximize the number of units sold. It'd be foolish to think these things are not timed to accomplish that. It'd be even more foolish to think software and hardware companies are not collaborating on projections.
Number of unit sold..
